Production & Planning Manager (Factory Operations)

About the Role

We are looking for a highly organized and execution-focused Production & Planning Manager to lead factory production and planning operations. This role is responsible for ensuring smooth day-to-day production, effective planning and scheduling, waste reduction, quality adherence, and efficient team management. The position plays a critical role in scaling output while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

• Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on demand and inventory levels
• Coordinate with Purchase, Stores, and Dispatch teams to ensure availability of raw materials and packaging
• Optimize machine utilization and manpower scheduling to maximize throughput

Production Management

• Oversee all day-to-day production activities on the factory floor
• Ensure production targets are achieved within defined timelines
• Maintain smooth coordination across production lines and shifts
• Monitor output, downtime, and overall line efficiency

Quality Assurance & Control

• Ensure all products meet defined quality standards with zero compromise
• Implement quality checkpoints at each stage of production
• Coordinate closely with QC/QA teams to address defects or deviations promptly

Waste Reduction & Efficiency Improvement

• Monitor material usage, wastage levels, and process efficiency
• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement practices (Lean, Kaizen, 5S)
• Improve yield and reduce wastage through disciplined processes and optimization

Team Leadership & Management

• Lead and manage production supervisors, line leaders, and shift teams
• Ensure proper training, discipline, and performance monitoring
• Build a culture of accountability, safety, and efficiency

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with Purchase, QC, Maintenance, Stores, and Dispatch teams
• Communicate production requirements, risks, and challenges clearly
• Ensure smooth coordination to avoid delays, stock-outs, or disruptions

Production Reporting & Documentation

• Maintain accurate reports on production output, efficiency, wastage, and manpower utilization
• Track KPIs such as yield, machine efficiency, output per hour, and downtime
• Present production performance insights to senior management

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to safety protocols, SOPs, and factory rules
• Maintain compliance with manufacturing standards, audits, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing production planning and operations
• Strong understanding of factory workflows, capacity planning, and production systems
• Proven experience managing production teams and shift operations
• Knowledge of quality systems and process improvement methodologies
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
