Deco Plant Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Deco Plant Manager to lead end-to-end operations of a glass decoration unit. This role is responsible for production planning, process optimization, quality control, manpower management, and timely delivery of decorated glass components. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in glass decoration technologies and the ability to drive efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement in a factory environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management

• Oversee daily operations of the glass decoration plant to meet production targets
• Plan and execute production schedules based on orders and customer requirements
• Ensure optimal utilization of machines, materials, and manpower
• Maintain smooth workflow across decoration processes such as screen printing, coating, and stamping
• Monitor daily output, downtime, rejection levels, and overall efficiency

Process & Technical Management

• Ensure correct setup, calibration, and operation of all decoration machinery
• Troubleshoot process issues related to printing, coating, curing, adhesion, color mismatch, and defects
• Drive process improvements through technical interventions and new methods
• Coordinate with R&D for new shades, designs, trials, and development samples

Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure decorated glass products meet customer specifications and quality standards
• Implement in-process checks and final inspections
• Conduct root cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions
• Maintain 5S, hygiene, safety, and compliance standards across the deco plant

Team Leadership & Workforce Management

• Lead and supervise operators, technicians, and supervisors
• Plan shift schedules and manpower allocation
• Train teams on skills, safety practices, and new decoration techniques
• Build a disciplined, efficient, and motivated workforce

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with production planning, QC, maintenance, and logistics teams
• Prepare and share daily, weekly, and monthly production reports and KPIs
• Support audits, customer visits, and new product trials

Inventory & Resource Control

• Monitor consumption of inks, coatings, chemicals, screens, and other materials
• Maintain optimal stock levels and raise purchase requirements as per production plans
• Minimize wastage through better process control and material handling

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in glass decoration or related manufacturing operations
• Industry experience in cosmetics, perfumes, beauty products, or glass manufacturing preferred
• Strong hands-on knowledge of decoration processes including:
  • Screen printing
  • UV coating / lacquering
  • Hot stamping
  • Heat transfer / decal applications
  • Spray coating
  • Embossing / frosting (where applicable)
• Ability to read artworks, Pantone shades, and production specifications
• Strong leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills
• Understanding of quality standards for cosmetic and perfume packaging
• Knowledge of safety standards and basic machine maintenance
