Role Overview
We are looking for a Vice President of Research to drive two critical pillars of our organization: Research Excellence and Strategic Leadership. The ideal candidate will steer daily research activities across multiple asset classes while leading and mentoring a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities
Pillar 1: Research & Strategy
- Comprehensive Investment Analysis: Conduct in-depth research and analysis across a broad spectrum of investment avenues, including Equities, Debt Instruments, Corporate Bonds, and Portfolio Management Services (PMS).
- Market Intelligence: Evaluate financial statements, industry reports, and macroeconomic indicators to identify viable investment opportunities, assess risks, and drive data-backed decision-making.
- Mutual Fund & Process Development: Lead quarterly Mutual Fund research initiatives and contribute to the continuous enhancement of internal research processes and knowledge repositories.
- Equity Support: Support the in-house Fund Manager with granular equity research, including company-specific deep dives, peer benchmarking, and sectoral analysis.
- Networking: Build and sustain strong professional relationships with external Fund Managers (MF & PMS) to stay ahead of market developments and product innovations.
- Fixed Income Focus: Execute structured research on fixed-income and debt products—including government securities and alternative debt instruments—to create robust, diversified investment strategies.
Pillar 2: Leadership & Client Engagement
- Team Mentorship: Lead, train, and supervise a team of Research Analysts, providing ongoing guidance to refine their analytical skills across equity and debt asset classes.
- Asset Allocation: Oversee and finalize bespoke asset allocation strategies tailored to diverse client profiles, ensuring alignment with individual financial goals, risk tolerance, and prevailing market conditions.
- Business Support: Partner with Business Heads during high-level client meetings to provide research-backed insights, resolve complex queries, and aid in client acquisition and retention.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Relevant Experience: Minimum of 2–3 years of specialized experience in Bond/Debt Research across multiple sectors is required.
- Certifications:
- NISM-Series XXI-B (Portfolio Managers) certification is highly preferred.
- CA (Chartered Accountant) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation is preferred.
