Logistics Executive

About the Role

The Logistics Executive is responsible for the seamless, end-to-end movement of global shipments. This central role requires constant, clear communication, a strong sense of urgency, and hands-on problem-solving to ensure timely coordination from the port/partner to the customer.

Responsibilities

I. Logistics & Operations Management

  • Oversee and manage daily logistics operations to ensure all shipments move efficiently and strictly according to schedule.
  • Track and monitor inventory movement, vessel schedules, and port clearances to facilitate smooth and timely deliveries.
  • Proactively identify, address, and resolve all logistical bottlenecks, operational delays, or shipment discrepancies.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies and relevant industry/customs standards across all logistical activities.

II. Communication & Coordination

  • Act as the primary communication hub, coordinating effectively with:
    • Quality teams at various international ports/sourcing locations.
    • External buyers, providing accurate and regular shipment status updates.
    • Internal Import, Accounts, and Dispatch teams.
  • Coordinate with the Accounts team for timely documentation, dispatch planning, and billing processes.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all shipment movements, documentation, and communications.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of relevant, hands-on experience in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Operations.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to handling time-sensitive issues.
  • Technical Proficiency:
    • Working knowledge of Tally ERP for coordination with Accounts and documentation.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Work Ethic: Proven ability to multitask, prioritize demanding workloads, and perform effectively under pressure.

Preferred Qualities

  • Prior experience in import/export or port-based logistics is highly desirable.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of efficiently managing multiple simultaneous shipments.
  • A collaborative team player, able to confidently and professionally liaise with external buyers, vendors, and all internal stakeholders.
