Job Summary
The Global HR Head will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations and ensuring compliance for a staffing organization with over 500 employees. The role focuses on delivering efficient HR services, maintaining compliance with employment regulations across the US and Canada, driving process improvements, and fostering a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including onboarding, offboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and employee records management.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and best practices aligned with business objectives.
- Manage the HRIS system while ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Provide HR guidance and support to managers and employees on people-related matters.
- Lead employee engagement initiatives and support talent management programs.
Compliance & Regulatory Management
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across the US and Canada, including regulations such as FLSA, FMLA, EEO, and OSHA.
- Conduct regular HR compliance audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Stay updated on labour law changes and communicate relevant updates to management and employees.
- Coordinate internal and external compliance audits and respond to regulatory inquiries.
- Design and deliver compliance training programs for managers and employees.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and analyse HR reports and key metrics for leadership.
- Monitor HR trends, identify improvement opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations.
- Track and report compliance-related activities and performance.
Employee Relations
- Handle employee relations matters, conduct investigations, and recommend appropriate resolutions.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or HR certification preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 2 years in HR operations and compliance.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws across all 50 US states and Canada.
- Prior experience in the staffing or recruitment industry is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office Suite.
