About the Role
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will work closely with global institutional investors, hedge funds, and asset managers, serving as an extension of their investment research teams.
This role offers hands-on exposure to financial modelling, equity research, investment thesis development, valuation, and capital allocation across global markets. The ideal candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, financial modelling expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to interpret complex financial information independently. Candidates pursuing or holding the CFA designation will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Modelling & Analysis
- Build, maintain, and enhance detailed three-statement financial models using InSync’s proprietary modelling platform and AI tools.
- Prepare quarterly earnings models, revenue forecasts, margin analysis, DCF valuations, comparable company analysis, and scenario-based forecasts.
- Convert complex financial information into accurate, client-ready analytical insights.
Investment Research
- Support portfolio managers and senior investment professionals with research and investment idea generation.
- Conduct in-depth fundamental research across industries and companies.
- Analyze competitive positioning, industry trends, market size (TAM), unit economics, and business performance.
- Monitor earnings calls, company filings, management commentary, sell-side reports, and industry developments.
- Utilize AI-powered research tools to improve research efficiency and accelerate insight generation.
Data Analysis & AI-Driven Research
- Leverage institutional datasets to perform advanced financial analysis.
- Analyze consensus estimates, ownership trends, estimate revisions, supply chain data, and market signals.
- Utilize AI-powered research assistants and data platforms to automate data extraction and analysis.
- Collaborate with product and data engineering teams to improve financial models and data quality.
Client Engagement
- Act as a trusted research partner for institutional investment clients.
- Deliver timely financial model updates, earnings previews, research reports, and ad hoc analytical projects.
- Build strong working relationships with client teams while understanding their investment processes and priorities.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related quantitative field.
- 1–3 years of experience in Equity Research, Investment Banking, Financial Consulting, or a similar analytical role. Exceptional fresh graduates may also be considered.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, financial modelling, and valuation techniques (DCF, Comparable Company Analysis, SOTP).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; exposure to FactSet or similar financial data platforms is an added advantage.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Self-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about financial markets and investing.
- CFA Charterholders or candidates pursuing advanced levels of the CFA program will be preferred.
