About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Moulding Plant Manager to lead end-to-end operations of a plastic injection moulding unit. This role is responsible for driving production efficiency, ensuring consistent quality, managing manpower and machines, and delivering high-precision components used in cosmetic and perfume packaging. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in injection moulding along with proven leadership and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations Management
- Manage daily injection moulding operations to achieve production targets
- Plan and execute production schedules based on customer orders and capacity
- Ensure smooth workflow across machines, moulds, raw materials, and manpower
- Monitor cycle times, machine performance, and efficiency to reduce downtime
Technical & Process Management
- Ensure correct setup, calibration, and operation of injection moulding machines
- Supervise mould changeovers, hot runner settings, cooling parameters, and process tuning
- Troubleshoot defects such as short moulding, flash, warpage, sink marks, cracks, and colour variation
- Implement process improvements to reduce rejection rates and improve productivity
Quality Control & Defect Reduction
- Ensure moulded components meet cosmetic and perfume industry quality standards
- Monitor in-process quality checks for dimensions, surface finish, and appearance
- Conduct root cause analysis with QC teams and implement corrective actions
- Maintain hygiene, safety, and 5S standards within the moulding unit
Mould & Machine Maintenance Coordination
- Coordinate preventive and breakdown maintenance with the maintenance team
- Ensure moulds are cleaned, lubricated, stored, and maintained properly
- Identify mould damage early and arrange timely repairs or replacements
- Maintain machine health and mould maintenance logbooks
Manpower & Team Leadership
- Lead supervisors, operators, technicians, and helpers on the shop floor
- Assign tasks, monitor performance, and enforce discipline
- Train operators on moulding techniques, safety practices, and quality standards
- Plan shift rosters to ensure optimal manpower availability
Inventory, Material & Cost Control
- Monitor usage of raw materials such as PP, PET, ABS, HDPE, PC, and masterbatches
- Ensure correct usage of resins, additives, colourants, and mould release agents
- Control material wastage and manage regrind and recycling practices
- Maintain stock levels and raise purchase requirements for key inputs
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with planning, QC, maintenance, purchasing, and warehouse teams
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production and performance reports
- Track KPIs such as OEE, rejection percentage, cycle time, and productivity
- Support audits, customer visits, and new project or product trials
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, Plastics Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in plastic injection moulding operations
- Experience in cosmetic, perfume, beauty products, or packaging industries preferred
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines (Haitian, Ferromatik, Arburg, Engel, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with multi-cavity moulds, hot runner systems, and precision components
- Ability to read mould drawings, part specifications, and parameter sheets
- Familiarity with automation, robots, and auxiliary equipment such as hopper dryers, chillers, and MTCs
- Strong leadership, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
- Knowledge of quality systems such as ISO and GMP
