We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst / Research Associate to support the Consensus team by gathering, validating, standardizing, and analyzing financial estimates and market data from multiple sources. The ideal candidate will work closely with internal Research, Product, Technology, and QA teams to ensure accurate, high-quality consensus data while maintaining global quality standards.
The role requires strong analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and a solid understanding of financial statements and financial data.
Key Responsibilities
Consensus Data Management
- Aggregate, maintain, and update consensus estimates across Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Capture and standardize broker estimates across various financial metrics.
- Monitor sector-specific earnings announcements, broker revisions, and management guidance.
- Ensure timely updates of estimate revisions throughout reporting cycles (PreQ/PostQ).
- Track analyst coverage and estimate dispersion trends.
- Maintain historical consensus databases.
Financial Statement & Earnings Analysis
- Interpret financial statements prepared under GAAP, IFRS, and other accounting standards.
- Track quarterly earnings releases and update financial models accordingly.
- Reconcile reported financial results against consensus estimates.
- Support the preparation of earnings calendars and estimate tracking dashboards.
- Maintain updates for corporate actions including mergers & acquisitions, restructuring activities, and other events impacting consensus estimates.
Data Quality & Validation
- Perform quality checks and data integrity audits to ensure high accuracy and consistency.
- Identify anomalies, outliers, and inconsistencies across broker estimates.
- Collaborate with QA and Technology teams to improve validation processes.
- Maintain documentation for methodologies, processes, and workflows.
Financial Modelling Support
- Maintain standardized earnings models aligned with consensus data.
- Assist in KPI mapping and standardization of non-GAAP metrics.
- Contribute to the development of sector-specific financial models.
- Work with Product teams to enhance model scalability and structure.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Identify opportunities to automate existing data workflows.
- Contribute to process documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the consensus data lifecycle.
- Support automation initiatives using Excel, VBA, or Python (preferred).
Required Technical Skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel (Lookup Functions, Pivot Tables, Financial Modelling)
- Strong understanding of financial statements and revenue drivers
- Knowledge of financial databases and consensus platforms (preferred)
- Basic understanding of SQL or similar data tools (good to have)
- Ability to work with structured and large datasets
Core Competencies:
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Master’s degree in Finance or a related discipline (Mandatory)
- CFA Charterholder or candidates who have cleared CFA Level I or II will be preferred (not mandatory)
- 1–5 years of experience in Financial Data Operations/Financial Modelling
