We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to provide clear leadership in developing a quality-focused environment. In this role, you will develop quality-process links with customers in line with our Quality Management System and oversee continued compliance across the business. You will be responsible for maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers to maximize efficiency, managing audit programs, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. We are looking for a proactive leader who can champion a problem-solving methodology and guide the team to achieve stringent quality targets and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures.
- Implement relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System and ensure compliance with external certification bodies, including TS16949, ISO14001, ISO 9001, and OHAS 18001.
- Respond to customer complaints by implementing containment actions, full analysis, error proofing, and long-term countermeasures.
- Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing culture.
- Undertake internal and process audits of the Quality Management System and manage Quality Engineers and Technicians in the sign-off of parts.
- Report against agreed quality metrics monthly and lead regular inspection meetings to establish action plans for improving build quality.
- Work with the Supplier Quality Assurance function to reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier material and liaise with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Develop, implement, and manage key performance indicators for your area of responsibility, ensuring targets are consistently met.
- Manage, coach, and develop a high-performing Quality Operations team, ensuring adequate staffing levels and promoting high standards.
- Prepare the annual Quality budget and forecasts, manage capital expenditure proposals, and ensure compliance with legal, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Relevant manufacturing or engineering degree is preferred, or an equivalent professional qualification.
- Significant experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience working in Quality Assurance and dealing extensively with customers and suppliers.
- Strong proficiency in Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Excellent leadership, man-management, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-functional teams.
- Competence in problem-solving, team building, planning, and decision-making.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, along with strong organizational and follow-up capabilities.
- Commercially aware with a self-starting, target-driven, and resilient mindset.
