Financial Analyst/Research Associate (Consensus)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Financial Analyst/Research Associate to manage and analyze financial estimates and market data from multiple sources. This role involves data validation, standardization, and collaboration with internal research, product, and technology teams to ensure accurate and high-quality consensus outputs. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively with large financial datasets and cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Consensus Data Management
  • Aggregate and maintain consensus estimates including Income Statement, Cash Flow, Balance Sheet, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Standardize and capture broker estimates across financial line items and KPIs.
  • Track sector-specific earnings releases, broker revisions, and management guidance.
  • Ensure timely updates of estimates during reporting cycles (Pre-Quarter / Post-Quarter).
  • Monitor estimate dispersion and analyst coverage trends.
  • Maintain historical consensus databases.
Financial Statement & Earnings Analysis
  • Analyze financial statements under various accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).
  • Track quarterly earnings releases and update financial models accordingly.
  • Reconcile reported financials against consensus estimates.
  • Support development of earnings calendars and tracking dashboards.
  • Maintain updates related to corporate events such as M&A, restructuring, and one-time adjustments.
Data Quality & Validation
  • Conduct data validation checks and quality audits to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify anomalies, outliers, and inconsistencies in broker data.
  • Collaborate with QA and technology teams to enhance validation processes.
  • Document data methodologies and workflows.
Financial Modelling Support
  • Maintain standardized earnings models aligned with consensus inputs.
  • Assist in KPI mapping and standardization of non-GAAP metrics.
  • Contribute to sector-specific modelling frameworks.
  • Work with product teams to improve model scalability and structure.
Process Optimization & Automation
  • Identify opportunities to automate data workflows.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs.
  • Drive continuous improvement across the consensus lifecycle.
  • Support automation initiatives using Excel, VBA, or Python (preferred).
Technical Skills:
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (including lookup functions, pivot tables, and modelling).
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and key revenue drivers.
  • Familiarity with financial databases and consensus platforms (preferred).
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or data tools (good to have).
  • Ability to handle large and structured datasets.

Education & Experience:

  • Financial statement analysis
